Monthly Vedic Astrology Forecast

December 2005

We kick off December 2005 with yet more Mars influence. The new Moon, Sun, and Mercury occupy Mars' water sign of Scorpio on December 1. Since the new Moon is generally the time for new ventures, we have the opportunity this month to at least think about the directions we may take in the near future. This new beginning time is still marked by the retrograde motion of both Mars and Mercury, which has kept the forward motion of life in stasis during this past month. Scorpio reflects the side of Mars that is intense in an underground, hidden way. Where Aries energy is unmistakably forward moving and "in your face," Scorpio energy travels down and in, probing the depths, researching, working on ways to channel energy, technologically or physically. Scorpio affords us perception, but can make us slow or wary in our expression. Scorpio is physical, where Aries is more mental; an altercation with Scorpio may lead to physical aggression, while with Aries, argument is more likely. Since forward motion in general hasn't begun for us yet, we could best spend this new Moon perceiving our surroundings, researching possibilities, and inquiring about the best way to spend our energy and resources when the time comes. Soon.

Calculations are done using the Chitrapaksha ayanamsha and the mean node. Timings are based on Mountain Time Zone, US.
